One of the greatest mistakes we make as Christians is letting our spiritual guards down. We forget that satan, though defeated, is by no means easily expelled from our lives. He will lurk in our habits, and hide in the recess of our minds; He will rally his forces, doing everything he can to recover the ground he has lost in our lives, or to gain new footholds. He is a master strategist, as he goes from a roaring lion, to a cunning serpent, to an angel of light. This is why Peter would warn us to be sober, be vigilant, because our adversary the devil, like a roaring lion, walks about looking for someone to devour. (1 Peter 5:8)
We can’t let our guards down. We must stay alert, keeping watch at all times…and here is how we do it. Continue daily in the Word; Pray, Pray, and Pray some more; Go to Church; and make sure each day you put your armor on, expecting and alert for the attacks of the enemy.
