When Christ promised His disciples that He was going to send the Holy Spirit, it was for much more than a power to perform…it was for a “Power to love.” When the Holy Spirit gets possession of the heart, He fills that heart with a real, divine, unconditional love. He then gives us the power…yes to witness…yes to walk in the gifts…yes to understand and reveal the mysteries of God…but more importantly, He gives us the power to love.

John said this, “If a man says I love God, and hates his brother, he is a liar…” Jesus said, we ought to love one another, as I have loved you.” Let’s allow Love to be the searchlight of our hearts; let’s allow love to be the test by which our thoughts, our actions, and our motives are measured today.
